This week has been unusually cool and the temperature has dropped from the high 80s to the low 70s. Before arriving I scoffed at the idea that 70 could feel cool and refreshing but I sit here firmly corrected. Hot and cold are relative concepts; I remember September days in primary school when I would wear shorts in defiance of the snow on the ground and a gray sky, determined to take advantage of the 1 month each fall my uniform permitted shorts. Now when the mercury drops to 70 I put on a heavy shirt and snuggle in its dense weave meant for much colder days. Last night was probably the biggest rain storm I've witnessed to date. It was about 3 hours of perfect dancing/cartwheeling/horseplay in the rain kind of rain compliments of a tropical depression set our way. When it was all over there was about 10 inches of rain standing in the roads. It was all gone by the next morning. so no real harm was done. the house stayed dry.
